TDI does not mandate pre-licensing coursework for the L&H or P&C licenses, however there IS a mandatory requirement for the adjusters license. Upon completion of the online course you will be able to apply to obtain your adjusters license which is reciprocal in AL, AK, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, ID, KY, MN, MS, MT, NH, NM, NC, OK, SC, UT, VT, WA, WV, WI, WY.

- Life and Annuities - 20 hours (17 life, 6 ethics)
- Sickness, Accident & Health - 20 hours (17 health, with includes 6 hours in Medicare Supp and Long Term Care, and 6 ethics)
- Title - 12 hours (6 title, 6 ethics)
- Personal Lines Property & Casualty - 40 hours (34 personal, 6 ethics)
- Crop - 6 hours (3 crop/hail, 3 ethics)

Texas Insurance Pre-License Requirements
With the exception of a P&C Adjuster's license, there are no specific pre-license course requirements or mandatory hours of training required for this state. Our exam prep courses cover topics that help you prepare for the state exam.
For Life, Accident and Sickness (Life Insurance License)
• Completion of 40 hour life, accident and sickness pre-licensing course. For prelicensing provider listing, click here

• Payment of $75
• Waiver of prelicensing course and examination can be granted if applicant holds CLU or FLMI designation. Must attach copy of CLU or FLMI designation with application.
• Waiver of prelicensing course and examination can be granted if applicant was previously licensed for same lines in prior home state; license in that state must be active at the time of moving to Georgia, applicant must attach original clearance letter from prior home state and must apply for licensure within 90 days of the date of the move to Georgia.
For Property Casualty
• Completion of 40 hour property and casualty prelicensing course. For prelicensing provider listing, click here

• Proof of NASD Web CRD printout showing current employers/registrations
• Waiver of prelicensing course and examination can be granted if applicant was previously licensed for same lines in prior home state; license in that state must be active at the time of moving to Georgia, applicant must attach original clearance letter from prior home state and must apply for licensure within 90 days of the date of the move to Georgia.
For Credit
• Completion of 5 hours of self study as outlined by § 33-23-12.
• Effective January 1, 2010, all new resident applicants, excluding active licensees and individuals that apply for reinstatement within 6 months of expiration date, shall be required to submit electronic fingerprints through a vendor selected by the Department for a criminal background check. The applicant shall bear the cost for electronic fingerprinting.
